More from Bill

Back in mid January I was informed about a new film about to start filming. One starring the cast of Horrible Histories and our greatest ever playwright.

Now I have been sent the first shot of the cast on set.  It’s only a publicity photo that could have been taken anywhere but it is nice anyway.

The cast of Bill
The cast of BILL at York Minster (From left to right: Laurence Rickard as Lope, Simon Farnaby as Juan, Mathew Baynton as Bill, Martha Howe-Douglas as Anne, Ben Willbond as King Philip II of Spain, Jim Howick as Gabriel)

The film is being shot in Yorkshire, London and West Sussex because of the help that Yorkshire is giving the production.

Expect to see surprisingly Yorkshire looking Stratford-upon-Avon but just ignore that and let the silliness of what Horrible Histories are well known for.

Expect Murder, love and intrigue all wrapped in a, at most, PG film.

BILL tells the story of what really happened during Shakespeare’s ‘Lost Years’ – how hopeless lute player Bill Shakespeare leaves his family and home to follow his dream. It’s a tale of murderous kings, spies, lost loves, and a plot to blow up Queen Elizabeth!

Playing to packed houses from February 20, 2015
