The Magnificent Seven ride again

The Magnificent SevenWhen I first caught the email that mentioned the remake of The Magnificent Seven I was crying inside.  It was another attempt at Hollywood to make money from remaking their back catalogue.

On the other hand, I am pleased with what they have done with it.  Not changed the story that much but dragged it into the 21st century.  It’s as stylish and as fun as the original but with bit more of the characters being rounded out.  You can spot some of the original, as well as taking some other Spaghetti westerns and throwing them into the mix.

Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven. With the sleepy town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue, the desperate towns people employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm, Josh Farraday, Goodnight Robicheaux, Jack Horne, Billy Rocks, Vasquez, and Red Harvest. As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
