Pan gets a trailer and images

Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard in Pan
Watching the, teaser, trailer for the upcoming Pan, I was intrigued at what this take of the classic story would take. The last time it was done in Hook we were treated to a classic re-telling of the story. This time, it’s more of a cross between Indiana Jones and some random Pirate tale – maybe Pirates of the Caribbean but without the drunkenness.

We first covered this film quite a while ago when an open casting call was sent around for the roes of Peter and Wendy. We now know who won the roles. It was Leni Zieglmeier who became Wendy and Levi Miller got the main role.

The two characters that made me laugh whilst watching the trailer is Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard and Garrett Hedlund as Hook. They get the best lines in the trailer. It does seem that Hugh is thoroughly enjoying the role and doing what you have to do at being the baddie in Peter Pan, taking a little ham from the old school. Even after saying that, it’s a role that not only deserves that but requires it as well. It brings the role more to life for the younger audience.

The trailer does show enough of the elements from the classic story so don’t worry that the Lost Boys would be missing. I’m sure that a crocodile will also appear and Smee will be put upon.

Not only do we get the trailer but a set of character posters and some images from the film to keep you happy until we get the full trailer and poster.

Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, the action adventure follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny—to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

Flying into UK cinemas July 2015
