Deadpool kills the opposition

Frist look at Deadpool
Our favourite anti-hero has broken new ground. Not only did Deadpool become the latest Valentine day movie that couples must see but it has also become the greatest February movie of all time

DEADPOOL shot to the top of the UK box office this weekend with an opening of more than £13.7M, making it the best début ever for a UK February release, beating the record previously held by Fifty Shades of Grey. It also marks the second biggest début for a Twentieth Century Fox title in the UK.

Cameron Saunders, Twentieth Century Fox’s UK Managing Director, commented: “We are thrilled with Deadpool’s opening weekend success. The response to our anti-hero has been staggering, especially in such a big year for superhero movies. This fantastic result demonstrates the great appetite for Deadpool’s existing and new found fans to see him on the big screen.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool is in UK cinemas nationwide now
